Stop Being A People Pleaser: 5 Ways To Be Blunt And Honest

Hey, are you the one who is always willing to lend a hand to others? Are you the gem who is always trying to put a smile on other people’s faces? Just a moment, are you doing all of this at the expense of your own comfort? Wait a minute. This must come to an end!

Continue reading to learn why you should quit trying to please everyone! I’ll  also tell you how to stop doing it, so don’t worry, it’s a complete package.

Let’s get started!

Why Not Try to Please Everyone?

Remember that pleasing others is a never-ending task. It’s a jerky road that has no end. No matter how much you do, people will always remember that one thing you couldn’t do for them.

Haven’t you ever heard the wise say that the best way to please people is to die?

Yes, it is totally correct!

So, while you’re burdening yourself with all of this, trust me when I say you’ll only get hurt in return.

Do a Self-check!

Are you wondering whether or not you are a people pleaser? Well, here’s the checklist.

If you answer yes to three or more of the questions, you’re a people pleaser.

  1. You find it difficult to say NO
  2. You cannot disagree
  3. You have trouble expressing your point of view
  4. You’re in desperate need of praise and approval.
  5. You can’t stand the anger
  6. You consider yourself responsible for what others think
  7. You get hurt frequently
  8. You’re always willing to apologize and accept the blame even when you’re not at fault.

How to Stop Being a People Pleaser?

Hey, this personality trait of yours could be the source of all the commotion in your life. Getting rid of it can bring about the ultimate bundles of positivity and comfort in your life. So, here’s what you should do.

1. Your Life Your Rules!

That is the first rule. You don’t have to say yes to everything. Yup, you’re the boss of your own life, and it’s perfectly acceptable to say no from time to time and don’t worry.

All you have to do now is a practice taking modest steps in this direction. When the circumstances are right, it’s ok to say yes and assist others in  their time of need.

2. You are Your Own Savior!

Your self-respect is secondary to none. Have broad and well-defined boundaries. Make certain that no one even thinks to step across the line.

However, it does not necessitate rude behavior from you. All you have to do is to be calm, kind, and firm at the same time.

3. Your Own Self is a Priority!

Make yourself a priority, and others will begin to do the same for you. Keep in mind that you often have life altering situations as well. You must look after your own comfort. Recognize that you are a unique individual, and you’re free to prioritize your preferences and comfort in any fashion you see fit.

4. Have Self-care!

Have you ever wondered that the time you spent crossing oceans for folks who wouldn’t even leap in a puddle for you could have been better-advocated practice self-care? Yes, start devoting some time to yourself. Your body and mind have their own needs. Make them a priority and work on them first. So, are you ready to experience a healthy mind as well as a sense of serenity and poise? It is so soothing!

5. Seek Assistance

If the suggestions above didn’t work for you, don’t worry, there are always professionals available. Never take a step back to get to one. Yes, a strong person isn’t the one who refuses to accept help. It’s the person who recognizes when assistance is required and has the fortitude to accept it.

Remember, that it’s only your approval that is needed. People will leave, and some will stay. What matters the most is what stays with you forever. A clear mind and your soul. So whilst doing good for people, never ever cross the boundary of sacrificing  your own peace, happiness  and health. It’s a hefty  price, once paid can never get refunded. I learned to stop it and you can to.  I am rooting for you!
